Nephtys

Nephtys is a Belgian-Syrian singer, rapper, and composer, whose name pays tribute to the Egyptian goddess known as the protector of funerary rites. Her musical universe blends alternative R&B, soul, and rap, carried by a delicate yet powerful voice rooted in influences ranging from vintage groove to experimental electro, with elements of hip-hop culture, contemporary R&B, and traditional music.

Born to a Syrian father and a Belgian mother, she found refuge in music from an early age to cope with cultural disconnection. Encouraged by her mother, she developed a strong and sensitive artistic voice, expressing herself in English—a language she sees as universal.

Trained in vocal performance, she later embraced rap to channel her revolt with greater intensity. She made her stage debut with the band Tracin Tracy at the Jazz in Den Gracht festival (Netherlands), before earning a solid reputation on the Belgian hip-hop scene (Le Botanique, Inc’Rock, Urban Day Festival…) and in France, where she notably opened for Médine at Petit Bain (Paris).

Following her releases Mistress Of The House (2018) and Roots (2020), where she explored her dual heritage and womanhood, Nephtys took a new turn with I.D., an EP in French bridging chanson and urban pop. Featured by outlets such as NRJ, Tarmac, RTBF, and Rinse, she now returns with GENESIS—an introspective project with Arabic, hip-hop, and soul influences. In this release, she opens up about her personal journey as a woman, tracing her path of familial, cultural, and emotional emancipation with striking honesty and radiant strength.
